The SaMP Kids worked so hard this month to pull together an “EVERYTHING Sale” for Blessings in a Backpack. They collected items from the community, made posters, and called local business owners to set up the location for the sale. This week they met at Dublin Roasters Coffee to set up. The kids took turns getting traffic from North Market St to come see what we had, and while it was a bit of a challenge to have a yard sale on a Monday right after school/work let out, we were blessed with some generous customers and the kids were able to raise $130 in just an hour and a half! A lot of the items donated for the sale came back with me so stay tuned as we intend to list them online to see if we can drum up any additional business.
On Monday the kids will be “shopping” with the money they raised so they can deliver the food for BIAB at a future meeting. We will also be joined by a new organization to kick off the new month. Building Veterans is a peer to peer supportive recovery program with a holistic approach. “Building Communities Builds People. Building People Builds Communities” We can’t wait to hear ways the kids can get involved!
SaMP Kids – Compassionate Kids Club is a weekly group focused on compassion and community service. Kids of all ages will come together to choose a service based project that will help teach them the importance of compassion for others and how their service big and small can make a difference in our community.
SaMP Kids is a free weekly LEARN Program thanks to the generosity of our supporters, sponsors and donors.
