Today I had the pleasure of taking one of our SaMP Kids, Harry, to visit the local Radio Station WFRE. Holly, Cindy and all the amazing folks at WFRE are holding their annual radiothon for St Jude and they invited us to come talk about SaMP Kids Compassionate Kids Club and the bake sale that we held earlier this month. Harry is the kiddo who helped pick this months project to bake cookies for kids with cancer in honor of his friend Baylin, who is currently battling Ewings Sarcoma. If you missed his interview you can catch it below, it’s totally worth a listen. Harry did an amazing job sharing SaMP Kids, and his friend Baylin.
SaMP Kids is a weekly service group with the goal of teaching kids that their acts of kindness can have a big impact on their community, The kids pick a project and execute each step needed to make the project a success. This past project included visiting local bakery, Clustered Spires, to bake, and ended with a table set up on a very chilly day outside of The Bicycle Escape. The kids were able to sell $463 in cookies to donate to St Jude.
Our next project will get started on Monday March 6th 4:30-5:30 at C Burr Artz in the community room.
